“This work started off as part of a site-specific installation for an exhibition regarding the nature of real estate development in Bangkok. The work consists of one square metre of soil that has been taken from an empty lot in a prime residential area of the city, which also was once the location of a school that I attended as a child. For the onestar press edition book, I photographed the soil and divided the images into pages that fit one square metre.” —Miti Ruangkritya
onestar press is dedicated to the production of books and multiples by artists. The overall production of onestar press includes more than 300 books, 300 multiples and artists’ films since 2000. The vision of onestar press, concerning contemporary creation, remains non-didactic and diversified. These beliefs translate through the publication of artists from different generations, countries and attitudes. This action serves as a means to constitute a subjective ‘encyclopedia’,as a reflection of our civilization.

“ผลงานชิ้นนี้เริ่มต้นจากการเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของศิลปะจัดวางเฉพาะที่ในนิทรรศการที่ว่าด้วยเรื่องธรรมชาติของการพัฒนาอสังหาริมทรัพย์ในกรุงเทพฯ ตอนนั้นผมขุดดินจากที่ดินเปล่าในย่านที่อยู่อาศัยใจกลางเมือง ซึ่งพื้นที่นั้นบังเอิญเป็นโรงเรียนอนุบาลที่ผมเคยเรียนเมื่อ 31 ปีที่แล้ว ในการนำเสนอผลงานชิ้นนี้ในรูปแบบหนังสือ ผมเลือกถ่ายภาพดินและแบ่งภาพขนาด 1 ตารางเมตรที่ได้จัดวางลงในแต่ละหน้าของหนังสือศิลปินที่ตีพิมพ์โดย onestar press”—มิติ เรืองกฤตยา
onestar press อุทิศตัวให้กับการผลิตหนังสือและมัลติเพิ่ลส์ที่จัดทำโดยศิลปิน ตั้งแต่ปี 2543 เป็นต้นมา onestar press ผลิตหนังสือมามากกว่า 300 เล่ม มัลติเพิ่ลส์อีกกว่า 300 ชิ้น รวมไปถึงภาพยนตร์โดยศิลปิน โดยวิสัยทัศน์เกี่ยวเนื่องกับการสร้างสรรค์ในโลกร่วมสมัย คือความตั้งใจที่จะไม่พร่ำสอน แต่จะแสดงให้เห็นถึงความหลากหลาย ความเชื่อในสิ่งนี้ถูกตีความออกมาผ่านสื่อสิ่งพิมพ์ของศิลปินหลากหลายรุ่น จากหลายประเทศ หลากทัศนคติ การตีพิมพ์สิ่งพิมพ์เหล่านี้ นับเป็นการประกอบสร้างสารานุกรมที่จะสะท้อนอารยธรรมของเรา
