140 x 70 cm, An image printed on Nano technology towel fabric

BANGKOK WET DREAM TOWEL is part of the project BANGKOK WET DREAM, a series of photography that challenges the image of patriarchy in the authority uniform. Images on each towel are brought from a sexual imagination of the character called ‘Salawat’ who travel in his dream where he met with a perversive man in a pair of booth and uniform that fulfil his desire in masochism. In this dream, he turns victim and surrenders. The project speaks about the politic of Thai authority uniforms that are hidden with the power to suppress.

“These uniforms are seen as something sacred and untouchable. In reality, everyone knows most of the men who wear uniforms use it as a tool to gain the power to attack the weaker. It is nonsense these days to still praise these men in uniform.” — Adisak Jirasakkasem (Beam) Co-founder of BANGKOK WET DREAM

“When I did BANGKOK WET DREAM I feel very satisfied because the image of Thai male is very rigid. I just disliked it and wanted to ruin it […] I want to create an image of gay that can be appreciated, like a homoerotic image, an image that when a man looks at it he would feel uncomfortable. I think my goal is to create an image that represents gay that is not different to an image of straight male and female. I feel like in Thailand, an image of gay is still like in the old days which is too narrow for me.” — Harit Srikhao (Perth) Co-founder of BANGKOK WET DREAM
