I a Pixel, We the People is a monumental moving image installation spanning 20 years of Chulayarnnon Siriphol’s artistic practice and 35 years of his personal archives. This text by Sam I-shan analyses the work’s temporal structure, intertextual symbolism, and transformative performances. It explores how the artist intertwines national histories and multigenerational family legacies in the context of Thailand’s political cycles, while envisaging art and film as sites for possible change.
This publication is released on the occasion of the parallel public program for the exhibition I a Pixel, We the People by Chulayarnnon Siriphol, held at BANGKOK CITYCITY GALLERY from April 26 to June 21, 2025. This first print run features 24 unique covers—each design printed as a single copy. Please note that specific covers cannot be chosen.
