The idea of this project started when I wanted to travel to another country to be with someone.
However, I found that there were many obstacles including distance, time difference, financial situation, visa application, uncertainty in the relationship, etc. It made me think a lot about ‘limits’ and what ‘limits’ could mean. This book is my personal attempt to understand different aspects of ‘limits’. Coming from a saying in Thai Buddhism ‘จิตเป็นนาย กายเป็นบ่าว’, literally translated as ‘mind is a master, body is a servant’ (mind over matter) – I approach ‘limits’ by first separating 1) physical being and 2) mental being and then 3) physical limit and 4) mental limit.
Aracha Cholitgul (b.1988) is an artist based in Bangkok, Thailand. She is interested in relationships of all kinds, personal stories, and intimacy. Cholitgul has high myopia and the idea of blurry visions intrigues her. She thinks about uncertainty often. Cholitgul always works with what she can touch. Most of the time, she draws, paints, writes, and sculpts – anything using hands, sometimes photography, too. (She has a habit of touching other people’s artwork, but she’s working on improving that.)

อย่างไรก็ตาม เราพบว่ามันมีอุปสรรคมากมายไม่ว่าจะเป็นระยะทาง, เวลาที่แตกต่าง, สถานะทางการเงิน, การขอวีซ่า, ความสัมพันธที่ไม่มั่นคง และอื่น ๆ อีกมากมาย มันทำเราคิดเยอะมากเกี่ยวกับ ‘ข้อจำกัด’ และคำว่า ‘ข้อจำกัด’ หมายความอย่างไรได้บ้าง คำดังกล่าวมาจากคำพูดในศาสนาพุทธของไทยว่า ‘จิตเป็นนาย กายเป็นบ่าว’ เราเข้าถึงคำว่า ‘ข้อจำกัด’ โดยแบ่งแบบนี้ 1) ร่างกาย (ที่จับต้องได้) 2) จิตใจ 3) ข้อจำกัดที่จับต้องได้ และ 4) ข้อจำกัดทางจิตใจ
อรช โชลิตกุล (เกิดปี 2531) เป็นศิลปินอยู่ที่กรุงเทพมหานคร ประเทศไทย อรชสนใจในความสัมพันธ์ทุกชนิด เรื่องราวส่วนตัว เเละ ความใกล้ชิด อรชสายตาสั้นมากเเละคิดว่าสิ่งที่มองเห็นไม่ชัดนั้นน่าค้นหา เธอมักจะคิดถึงความไม่เเน่นอนอยู่บ่อยครั้ง อรชมักทำงานกับสิ่งที่เธอสามารถสัมผัสได้ด้วยมือ โดยส่วนใหญ่เเล้วอรชวาดรูป ระบายสี เขียน เเละ ปั้น – อะไรก็ได้ที่ใช้มือทำ บางครั้งก็ถ่ายรูปด้วยเหมือนกัน (อรชติดนิสัยชอบจับงานคนอื่นเเต่กำลังพยายามเลิกนิสัยนี้อยู่)
